Due to the uncertainty caused by the recent election as well as the current lack of an approved Federal budget, we have had to make some revisions to our Clearinghouse calendar. Because information is limited at this time regarding sources, timing and amounts of funding, the CFSC would like to make you aware of several changes.

The Clearinghouse will, as scheduled, open for applications on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. However, the workshops we had planned to offer statewide during December and January are being postponed until a later date. We are extending the application deadline until April 1 to allow for additional time for us to receive more concrete details about funding, match requirements, program priorities and other key points.

Please continue to consult this website regularly for updated information on the Clearinghouse schedule. In the meantime, the CFSC Board wants you to know that they are actively working to obtain federal funding for wildfire prevention activities, realizing that California's vulnerability to devastating wildfires remains unabated. They are communicating the urgency of our need for this funding to key legislators and federal partners. We urge you to do the same with your local Congressional representatives, and we appreciate your patience with these unavoidable changes to this year's Clearinghouse timeline.
